At our last board meeting, you may recall that our President, Lee Peregoff, had mentioned that we will soon be starting work on two new projects related to addressing the safety concerns on our waterfront. I wanted to provide an update on the status of these projects
The first project will address the replacement of 3 fiberglass dock deck sheets adjacent to the Gazebo. The 3 sections identified show signs of fiberglass cracking and/or significant soft spots in decking. These sections have been identified as the priority and future sections will be addressed at a later date. Work is planned to start next Wed (10 July), weather permitting, and will replace 2 sections of deck sheets on the western side of the gazebo. Given the work being done and removals required (i.e., Gazebo access stairs), the Gazebo area (table and chairs) and the western side of the fiberglass dock decking will be unavailable. Once these are complete (approx. 2 weeks), then work will shift to the east side where one additional dock deck sheet will be replaced. At that time, the eastern side dock decking will be unavailable and the Gazebo area will also remain unavailable until that section is complete (estimated at 1 additional week, weather permitting). We expect to re-open the western side of the dock area when that section is complete (o/a 24 July). We expect overall project completion in early August. Very much appreciate your patience as this important work is accomplished to address these priority waterfront safety issues
The second project will address the repair of 12 fiberglass dock sheets along the waterfront that show signs of fiberglass cracking/degradation, have significant soft spots, and / or show other signs of deterioration. Surveys of the entire waterfront decking have been completed and priority fiberglass dock deck sheets have been identified. As with the Gazebo, these are the current priorities and future dock decking sheets will be addressed at a later date. We expect work to start later in July and will update the community as the repair plan gets finalized. Again, appreciate your patience as these individual dock deck sheets are repaired and as they are repaired, note that individual deck sheets will be cordoned off / unavailable.
If you have any questions, pls feel free to contact myself or Walter.
Thank you,
Mike Cipolla
